BSOTD With Books Privacy Policy

BSOTD With Books (“the App”) helps you catalog and manage the books you own. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how your information is handled.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not collect, store, transmit, or access any personal data on external servers. All information you enter — including book details, notes, and reading information — is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.

If you enable iCloud, your data is synced only through Apple’s iCloud service. We do not have access to your iCloud data at any time.

2. Google Books Search

The App allows you to optionally search for book information using the Google Books API. When you perform a search:

  • The App sends your search query to Google Books
  • Google returns publicly available book metadata (title, author, cover, etc.)
  • No personal information is included in these requests
  • We do not track or store your search queries

Your use of Google Books is subject to Google’s own privacy policy.

3. How Your Data Is Used

All data is used solely within the App to provide its core functionality. We do not:

  • Collect analytics
  • Track usage
  • Share data with third parties
  • Sell or monetize any information

4. Data Storage and Syncing

Your data is stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled, Apple securely syncs your data across your devices. We do not control or access your iCloud data.

5. Data Deletion

You may delete your data at any time by:

  • Removing items within the App, or
  • Deleting the App from your device (which removes all locally stored data)

iCloud data can be removed through your Apple ID settings.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App does not collect personal information and is safe for users of all ages.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
